Water Rocks!, Iowa State University’s award-winning statewide youth water education campaign, is pleased to announce Water Rocks!: The Musical. This professionally staged live show, offered as a free community event for all ages, explores humankind’s connection to water in a fast-paced 50-minute musical odyssey. Water Rocks! The Musical tells the story of four quirky students, dreading a looming science exam, who are given a miraculous chance to become water and explore the world. In a whirlwind tour of the water cycle, they discover water’s origin story, its transformations, and how closely it’s connected to humans—and become prepared and pumped up to face challenges that affect humans and nature alike. The score includes songs from popular Water Rocks! music videos, including the award-winning “Will U B the H 2 My O?” and “The Drinking Song,” alongside new numbers created specifically for the show. The musical and choreographic styles run the gamut from bubblegum pop to jazz to contemporary RnB. Water Rocks! The Musical will have its world premiere at the Ames City Auditorium, June 16 and 23, 7pm. Hope to see you there!
