Snow Magic Kick-Off

Downtown Ames is always festive during the holidays! Join us for a night of fun holiday themed activities that are great for the whole family. The Ames Main Street Holiday Farmers’ Market will be held at the American Legion (225 Main St.) from 5:00-8:00pm. Additionally, the night will feature an ice sculpture in Cynthia Duff Plaza, horse carriage rides between Main Street Station and the Ames History Museum, a visit from Santa and Mrs.Claus at 301 Main, and a snowflake lighting at Tom Evans Park at 6:00pm!

Schedule
5:00pm – Event begins at participating businesses, Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive at 301 Main!
6:00pm – Snowflake lighting ceremony in Tom Evans Park, Carriage rides start at Main Street Station and outside of Ames History Museum
8:00pm – Event concludes

Story Walk: 12/4 – 1/15
Take a walk through downtown Ames and discover Snowmen at Night by Caralyn Buehner! Enlarged pages from this beloved picture book will be displayed in windows on Main Street for all ages to read and enjoy. Story Walk is hosted by the Ames Public Library!
